![]() actual 3D models of buildings? To be integrated into Google Earth or otherwise, or maybe something like OpenStreetMap. I get that it's an existing popular game with lots of enthusiastic, talented users and a relatively easy interface to learn, but wouldn't these resources be better spent building e.g. is Minecraft the best system to be doing this? The earth is basically being constructed as an oval if you want to think of it that way, because the Minecraft world I don't believe is actually flat, I think it's a very long oval. Build the earth is pretty much a project to do the surface of the earth with the 33 million meters of world in each direction from the middle, in this case it's possible, because the earth has a diameter of 12.7 million meters and a Minecraft world has 33. So we can only do the crust of the earth because that's all we can fit with the height difference, obviously we are not going to do the inside of the earth anyways, that would pointless and probably highly inaccurate, take it like this, the earth is an oblate spheroid while a Minecraft world is like a sideways oval. It's not possible in Minecraft, the earth and Minecraft are completely different, we have to take the land below us and do the crust of the earth, because the diameter of earth is about 12.7 million meters, the diameter of Minecraft however is only 256 meters. Honestly these are more extensive than the original), edited it so that the portal room is right by spawn but inaccessible until you have a diamond pickaxe.įINAL UPDATE (June 8th): This link: is the original file with ores in it! I found it! However, just in case people want the file without ores, here it is. I have acquired a different version which was meant to be used on a server (It has several monuments, a few meant to be specific to the server. This was a mistake, as it was a Europe crop. Since the old one was deleted I put up another one which had the same name in my drive. IF YOU DOWNLOADED THIS MAP FROM APRIL 1st TO APRIL 4th edit: This link: is now the new download. Then painting biomes and trees according to a miller projection Köppen–Geiger climate classification map, also made using arcGIS. Made using edited heightmap data from arcGIS as a base, then handpainting terrain on top, then painting rivers using a fairly detailed river overlay from arcGIS (so that they are accurate), The height has been exaggerated for gameplay purposes. This means that the map is roughly 31,000 blocks across and 16,000 blocks tall. This map is 1:924 Scale at 45 degrees latitude and is using the miller projection. This map has multiple natural landmarks, custom trees, and is survival friendly (has caves (not open to air) and an end portal)
